It’s incredible to see how many of these types of profiles exist silently in organizations and how few of them are aware of it and the impact of their behavior on the environment, and consequently, the impact the environment has on them as well.
Just take a look at a DISC report. Experience has shown me the close relationship between this type of profile and the way leadership is conducted in their environment. It coincides with the typical profile of an NP3 (a person with ability but little motivation), which coincidentally is characteristic of a person whose leader is either overleading or underleading them, both equally detrimental. Depending on the graph (natural or adapted), it’s easier or more complicated to solve because it depends on how long they have been behaving this way. “Behavior is a function of the person based on their perception of the environment.”
In the report, you can see it when all the bars are below the 50 line. If you see it in the adapted version, it means it’s been a short time, but if you see it in the natural version… OH GOD. A long coaching process awaits if it’s recoverable, or if they’ve reached the PNR (point of no return), a period of transition or imminent change awaits. All this simply by taking a look at a graph without needing to read the entire report.
Either way, behaviorally, the only way out of this, regardless of the path the person will take, is by pulling one of the engines, or rather, the only engine that can get them out of there. They need to emphasize seeing the situation as a challenge, a goal, focusing on clear objectives, needing to achieve and solve milestones that give them a slight dopamine boost, empowerment, and get them out of that situation of boredom and inactivity. I suppose you know I’m referring to them unleashing their “D”. Wow… all this from looking at a simple graph. Simply a wonderful, enlightening, objective, and pragmatic tool. I’ll tell you shortly what we do with teams using this tool. But in the meantime, you can view the DISC reports I work with at this link: https://descargarinformes.gr8.com/ and also see some very interesting business supplements that will help you with talent development, selection, and demonstration, and of course… if someone is “burned out” or about to burn out, you now have the key to discovering it.
I hope this is useful to you, whether you already work with DISC or are interested in learning about it. In that case, don’t hesitate to contact me, I’ll be happy to help.
